In Other News...

A weekly rundown on what I've been reading.

What is this?

This is a spinoff of my main newsletter, Complex Machinery.

Complex Machinery includes a section called "In Other News..." where I list one-liners about interesting articles that didn't fit into any segments.

You can think of this list as a version of In Other News, but with a wider remit than Complex Machinery's "risk, AI, and related topics."

What's the format?

Each issue of In Other News is a curated list of links to articles. I add a sentence or two for a description, I name the source, and that's it.

It's intentionally barebones and simple, designed for quick skimming.

You can review the archives to get a sample.

How often does In Other News land in my inbox (or RSS feed)?

Once a week, on Wednesday mornings.

Who's behind this newsletter?

Just like its parent newsletter Complex Machinery,
In Other News is written by me, Q McCallum.

You can read more about me on my website but the gist is: I've spent my career in and around the emerging-tech space, and I've been in (The Field We Currently Call) AI since the early days of "predictive analytics" and "Big Data."

These days my work sits at the intersection of risk and AI.

I write a fair amount (between newsletters, my blog, books, and the occasional article on O'Reilly Radar) and also read quite a bit. In Other News is a space to share some of what I've been reading each week.

I'm sold! How do I sign up?
